The repubs got nuthin. I'm remembering how the repubes made those truckloats of votes get lost in Fla, voting places in dems areas closing early. Then all those new voting computers put out that were made by Bush cronies. There just is not one pleasant thought about Bush's administration. His winning decided by the Supreme Court. Katrina. The Dick Cheney and Halaburton, Blackwater, stupid unjustified wars, even Imminant Domain reconstructed so that ANY business can take your property whether it is for public good or not. Giving Corporations the title of "persons". How Bush used 9-11 to get what big Corp wanted in the middle east. Bankrupting the nation and taking huge loans from China. Attacking Unions and moving industries overseas creating massive unemployment. Obama might win but then the repubes can repeat the Bush playbook. Senators and Congressmen getting uber rich on insider trading. It just makes me sick.

Welcome!!!! I was literally in for 36 years and started pulling roots out ever since and they no longer have any power in my brain (although sometimes ideas pop up that came from the borg). Sounds like you are having a great life and that is wonderful. I've been going to the Universal Unitarian church (I'm still uncomfortable saying "church". How did you like your experience with them? I recently had lunch with a couple who previously had been a priest and nun for 40 yrs in the Catholic church. It was really interesting to see the similarities emotionally they went thru like I did in escaping the borg. They are really neet people. They pointed out to me that they had it a little easier because they had each other. They both got degrees in social work and were able to make a decent living.. They also survived their son's suicide. I spoke of mydificulities in going thru my mother's death and my two brother's death in a short time and being unable to go thru their things. They are both lay ministers. Any way. I like the social justice ideals of this group and the fact that they are outrageously inclusive. So anyway, welcome. It is a pleasure to know you.

Our door to door activities were a personal ministry and not recognised as representatives or volunteers of the Watchtower Bible And Tract Society
by smiddy inhow do you feel about that ?were you misled (again) after all these years ?
this article from the newspaper in the latrobe area reffering to steven unthanks case is truly disturbing.
its an affront and an insult to any and everyone who has participated in the ministry of jehovah`s witnesses over many, many years.talk about being thrown to the wolves.how low can this organization go in saving face at the expense of those whose loyalty and devotion is discarded for a perceived image.absolutely shocking.

If that's the case, why did we count our time, turn it in, and the society use it in their publications? Why did the society create a governing body directed "Ministry School" to show us how THEY wanted us to think and speak? Why did the society provide milllions of THEIR publications for us to distribute? What a giant LIE!!!!!!!

I have other sheep which are not of this fold
by Wayward Son injohn 10:16 - and i have other sheep, which are not of this fold; those also i must bring, and they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd.. setting: jesus was talking to a blind man he had recently cured and the pharisees were listening in.
it sounds like he had a larger audience that likely included his apostles.so, who is "this fold" he was referring to and who are the "other sheep"?according to wts doctrine, the heavenly calling (covenant) had not been instituted yet.
we don't hear about that until the last supper.

Interesting to note neither Matthew, Mark, Luke or John had NOTHING to do with writing these books. They were long dead when these were written by anonymous writers. The names were given much, much later. Since these apostles were "unletterered and ordinary" who made a written record or the exact conversations? I submit....nobody. Just like who wrote the 1st five books of the Bible? Moses? I think not since all the stories there preexisted in other "pagan" myths such as the Epic of Gilgamesh.
The borg is just another attempt at interpretation of the impossible...just like the Catholic Church.

Yes, Mouthy. I have felt sorry for her but is she really a victim? There's only one kid still in the borg. She must hear reality from her kids. That family is a hot mess especially the Dad.

Theo Min School and Public Speaker Training Outdated...
by Confucious ini used to think that the theocratic ministry school was extremely valuable.. and i think it does have it's value.. but i think public speaking has changed so dramatically the last few years.. last time i went to the kh... the public speakers were speaking at a very "low" level.. i think part of the thing the current crop of religious speakers (like joel osteen, etc... they are so dynamic.. and even speakers like tony robbins.... i think the style of speaking for witness speakers has become old school.. granted - yes... they have an audience that is "obligated" to listen to them.
but they have not evolved at all as public speakers - and probably is getting worse.. most public speakers aren't glued to an outline.... just a thought.... .

I joined Toastmasters to learn how to speak. KMS is the most lacking program around. The only surprise about Toastmasters is that they never graduate! The first meeting I went to people had been in there 17 or 19 yrs.

A Born ins challenge to develop a "post cult" personality.
by stuckinamovement ina born ins challenge to develop a post cult personality.. mentally leaving the organization can be traumatic for a number of reasons.
one of the biggest challenges for born-ins in finding their pre cult personality is that our entire personalities are based on the religion.
there is no such thing as a pre cult personality for us.

OMG Siam. You hit the nail on the head. I've been out 12 yrs and I still feel empty. I divorced my husband when he was outed. He stayed a while in the cong but he is living openly gay in another state. My immediate family all died within the last 4 yrs. I might be better if I had someone with me or had children. I feel very untethered but I'm trying to become more active in the unitarian church because they are very active in socal justice. I just about hate the holidays and I am uncomfortable in many social situations because I don't have that history of reference that most people have. I am a good little actress so I get by. I think that it probably will never change. It's kind of like when children miss certain stages of developement at specific ages they reallly are just shit out of luck. If my mom knew what was going to happen to our family I know she would have felt really bad. But it just is what it is.

I have been to this church when a workmate passed and the funeral was there. It was a little weird because the walls are all black. I don't remember the sermon. I have a friend that goes there and I want to talk to her. I am constantly amazed at people giving their personal power to some egocentric control freak. People ignore that little voice in your head and the next thing you know you are shooting coolaid down their babies throat.
